Corbin J. Robertson, Jr. 

Corbin J. Robertson, Jr.

Corby is a Principal of the Fund and serves on the Investment Committee. Corby is also the Managing Partner of Quintana. He is the Chairman and CEO of the general partner of Natural Resource Partners L.P. (NYSE: NRP) and was the Chairman of Quintana Maritime Limited prior to its sale to Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. on April 15, 2008. Corby has served as the CEO and Chairman of the general partner of Western Pocahontas Properties since 1986, of Great Northern Properties since 1992 and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Gauley Coal since 1986. He also serves or has served as Chairman of the Board of the All-American Wildcatters Association, the Baylor College of Medicine, the Cullen Trust for Higher Education and the World Health and Golf Association, and on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute, the National Petroleum Council and the Texas Medical Center. Corby was recently inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Corby attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.B.A. from the Business Honors Program.

  Donald L. Evans

Secretary Evans is a Principal of the Fund and serves on the Investment Committee. Secretary Evans is also a Senior Partner of Quintana. Secretary Evans is the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Energy Future Holdings Corp., an energy holding company, and is an advisor to Energy Capital Partners I, L.P., a private investment fund. Secretary Evans served as the CEO of the Financial Services Forum between 2005 and 2007. Secretary Evans served as the 34th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He was a core member of President George W. Bush's economic team, advising the President on issues including pro-growth and job-creating economic policies, international trade, business concerns and energy policy. In 1975, Secretary Evans moved to Midland, Texas, and began his career as a roughneck working on oil rigs for Tom Brown, Inc., an independent oil and gas company. In 1985, he was appointed CEO of Tom Brown, continuing in that position until his appointment as U.S. Secretary of Commerce in 2001. Tom Brown was purchased by EnCana Corporation for $2.2 billion in 2004. Secretary Evans was appointed to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System in 1995 and subsequently served two consecutive terms as Chairman of the Board. Secretary Evans attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A.
 

Rogers Herndon

Rogers Herndon is a Senior Partner, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Quintana. He joined Quintana in 2011 and serves on the Investment Committee of Funds I and II. Rogers has an extensive background in the energy sector with twenty three of operating and investing experience. Rogers’ prior experience includes roles as Managing Director, Global Commodities with Bank of America and senior commercial leadership positions with PSEG Energy Resource and Trade and Enron Corp. Rogers was a co-founder of Phillips Royalty Partners, LP.

Prior to joining Quintana, Rogers served as Executive Vice President and as a member of the Office of the CEO for Reliant/RRI Energy, Inc., responsible for corporate strategy, business development and M&A activities.

Rogers attended Washington and Lee University where he received a B.A in Economics and the Wharton School of Business where he received an M.B.A. in Finance.

Warren S. Hawkins

Warren is a Senior Advisor at Quintana and serves on the Fund I committee. He joined Quintana Petroleum Corporation in 1972 and presently serves as a Senior Partner of Quintana. Warren has led numerous oil and gas investments for Quintana Minerals Corporation, both in the United States and internationally, during his 35 year career. Warren has served as a director of American Petroleum Institute Upstream, LSU Petroleum Industry Advisors, Houston InterAmerican Chamber of Commerce, Greystone, Columbia Natural Resources, Pine Mountain, Caledonia, Deep Gulf, Coldren Oil and Gas, Tenergy and numerous Quintana affiliates. Warren is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Petroleum Institute and is a Registered Professional Engineer. Warren attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.

Stephen D. Stephen D. "Steve" Thompson

Steve is Managing Director - Oilfield Service of Quintana, where he is responsible for the evaluation and operational aspects of oilfield service investments. He is also head of the Fund's Oilfield Services Sector. Steve has over 29 years of U.S. and international oil and gas industry experience. Steve served as Quintana Minerals Corporation's General Manager of Santa Cruz I UTE in Argentina. Steve is a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Steve attended Texas Tech University, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
John W. Wessels John W. Wessels

John is Managing Director - Engineering of Quintana, where his responsibilities include reservoir engineering and economic evaluations and oversight of the general reservoir management of oil and gas investments. John has 33 years of diversified engineering experience, including 25 years with Quintana where he has held numerous technical and managerial positions including Reservoir Engineering Manager of the Louisiana Division and Operations Manager of the Rocky Mountain Division of Quintana Minerals Corporation. John also served five years as Vice President of KUKUI, Inc., an independent exploration and production company that specialized in the production of coal-bed methane. John is a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. John attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.S and an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
George G. Dethlefsen George G. Dethlefsen

George is Vice President - Investments of Quintana, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments, as well as managing and monitoring the activities of Quintana's portfolio companies. Previously, he was an Associate with the general partner of Natural Resource Partners, conducting corporate finance and valuation activities. Prior to joining Natural Resource Partners, George was with Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s investment banking division, where he worked with energy, power and consumer products companies. George attended Rice University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Managerial Studies, and The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned an M.B.A.
Christopher J. Baker Christopher J. Baker

Chris is Vice President - Investments of Quintana, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments, as well as managing and monitoring the activities of Quintana's portfolio companies. Prior to joining Quintana, served as an Associate with Citi's Corporate and Investment Bank where he conducted corporate finance and valuation activities focused on structuring non-investment grade debt transactions in the energy sector. Prior to Citi, Chris was Vice President of Operations for Theta II Enterprises, Inc. where he focused on project management of various complex inland marine and subsea pipeline construction projects. Chris attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and Rice University, where he earned an M.B.A.
Keefer M. Lehner Keefer M. Lehner

Keefer is an Associate of Quintana, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments, as well as managing and monitoring the activities of Quintana's portfolio companies. Prior to joining Quintana, Keefer was an Analyst in the Corporate Finance Division of Simmons & Company International, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions for public and private clients engaged in all facets of the energy industry. Keefer attended Villanova University, where he earned a B.B.A. in Finance.
Kai Xia Kai Xia

Kai is Associate - Investments of Quintana, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments, as well as managing and monitoring the activities of Quintana's portfolio companies. Previously, he was an Analyst with Deutsche Bank, where he worked on a number of M&A, debt and equity transactions in the oil and gas sector. Kai was formerly with the Technology Mergers and Acquisition practices of Morgan Keegan and Revolution Partners. Kai attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Jimmy A. McDonald Jimmy A. McDonald

Jimmy is the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Quintana, where he is responsible for the accounting and financial oversight of Quintana and its portfolio companies. Jimmy is a Certified Public Accountant with approximately 20 years of diverse experience in finance, accounting and management in the power industry and other energy sectors. Prior to joining Quintana, Jimmy held various management positions with the McNair Group, El Paso Merchant Energy, and Ferrell North America. Jimmy attended Texas A&M University, where he earned a B.B.A. in Accounting.
Shelley Manley Shelley Manley

Shelley is Controller of Quintana. Her responsibilities include accounting for all of Quintana's investments, working with management and outside audit and tax professionals. Shelley has over 20 years of diverse experience in accounting, onshore Texas and Louisiana, offshore Gulf of Mexico, international experience in Alberta, Canada and other energy sectors. Prior to joining Quintana she held positions of Financial Analyst and Manager of Accounting at Stone & Webster Oil Company. Shelley also served as Secretary for two of its subsidiaries Spruce Hills Production Company and San Salvador Development Company. Shelley is a member of the Petroleum Accountant Society of Houston. Shelley attended University of Houston, where she received a B.S.
Eva Clark Eva Clark

Eva is a Senior Paralegal of Quintana. Prior to joining Quintana, Eva was a part of the legal team of Halliburton's KBR division and played an integral role in KBR's separation from Halliburton. Prior to KBR, Eva was with Pioneer Companies, Inc., a chemical manufacturer with eight plants in the U.S. and Canada. At Pioneer, Eva was involved in M&A and transaction structuring involving large domestic and foreign acquisitions, asset sales, and contract negotiations, as well as related acquisition financings and capital-raising transactions and restructurings. Eva is a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. Eva attended Texas A&M University, where she received a B.A.
Larry J. Townsend Larry J. Townsend

Larry serves as Director of Insurance for Quintana, Natural Resource Partners, L.P. and Quintana Minerals Corporation. He works closely with management, legal and insurance brokers to provide a quality risk management program. His responsibilities include the identification and measurement of risks of loss arising from Quintana's operations and overseeing the management and placement of its insurance program. Larry has 30 years of experience in risk management and insurance, 25 years of which were with Mitchell Energy & Development Corp., an independent oil and gas company, where he served as Director of Risk and Insurance. He most recently served as Risk Manager for the Port of Houston Authority. Larry attended Sam Houston State University where he received a B.B.A. degree in Management.
Debbie S. Leiss Debbie S. Leiss

Debbie serves as Insurance Manager of Quintana, Natural Resource Partners L.P., Quintana Minerals Corporation and Quintana Maritime Limited. Debbie's responsibilities include overseeing the due diligence, placement, maintenance and management of property and casualty insurance. She works closely with management, legal, insurance brokers and consultants to provide a quality risk management program. Prior to joining Quintana Minerals Corporation in 1990, Debbie served as Lease and Division Order Analyst for Kilroy Company of Texas, Inc. She is a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. Debbie attended Louisiana Tech University, where she received a B.A.
